Each student’s level and age require a different approach to music teaching. For instance, I prefer to teach very young students (approximately ages 5-7) how to understand the basic elements of music before introducing them to the instrument. It is similar to how children develop cognitive skills - first, they learn to speak a language, and only later do they learn to write it. Pedagogically, I believe students should be introduced to the instrument gradually. However, I still familiarize them with its elements so they can understand how it works. At the same time, their natural curiosity builds anticipation for the moment they begin playing music. I strongly believe that balance is especially important for young children. Guiding them in the right direction is a serious task that must be done tactfully. A tutor should not only be an instructor but, more importantly, a pedagogue.

Older students can be introduced to the instrument immediately, as they are better able to focus, grasp basic concepts more easily, and develop discipline. The same applies to adult students. More advanced students, however, need guidance in order to control and integrate their musical knowledge and talent into their performances effectively. Developing strong technique is also crucial for mastering pieces that require advanced technical skills.

Regardless of age or level, each student requires a specific approach. Every individual has unique characteristics, skills, and challenges, and the teacher must adapt accordingly. In my experience, it is ineffective to instruct all students in the same way. Instead, I strive to identify what they need, how to teach them, and what methods will work best for them. Teaching is not just a challenge - it is also an opportunity for me to grow, not only as a tutor but also as a performer, artist, and person.
